MENDHAR, May 4: Dy Commissioner Poonch, MH Mailk today cancelled the illegal allotment of nearly 75 kanals of Govt land to some families located at Bhera village near Mendhar.
Nearly 330 kanals of this Govt land had been demarcated for Sports Stadium near the town some time back. Some people in connivance with the local Revenue staff managed to get the said land under Khasra No. 689 alloted in their own name. Even they managed fraudulent Girdawaris of the land.
SDM Sher Singh when came to know about the matter during eviction operation recently, wrote the matter to DC in details. The DC k sought the factual report from the SDM and after being convinced canceled the allotment. He also directed the SDM and SDPO to get the land cleared.
The DC when contacted said that Revenue officials responsible for the act have been identified and legal action will be taken against them shortly. He said that Govt will get this land cleared and if needed FIR will be registered against the accused officials.
