This refers to news item “Adm facilitating construction work in Gulmarg” (DE Jan 6th 2020). Previously it was being alleged that local politicians are putting a pressure on authorities for going ahead with such illegal constructions at tourist places of Gulmarg , Pahalgam , Sonmarg , Patnitop and other places. From more than a year J&K was under Governors rule and from last 2 months J&K is now a Union Territory and one fails to understand who is involved in this illegal constructions ?
Let me make it clear that officials of local tourism development authorities are themselves involved in this heinous crime and they were only blaming politicians. I don’t say politicians have not been facilitating these illegal constructions , but the corrupt bureaucrats , lower rung KAS officers and police are main culprits. I appeal J&K High Court to take this matter seriously and immediately constitute a special team who would look into illegal constructions being undertaken in tourist places like Gulmarg, Sonamarg , Yusmarg , Pahalgam, Patnitop, Baderwah and other places. Let the involved officers be taken to task
