JAMMU, June 30: The Sanasar Association of Camp Sites, Hotels and Home Stay has written to J&K Chief Secretary (CS), Atal Dulloo and highlighted the issue of alleged illegal construction by Floriculture Department at main meadow of Sanasar.
Jagjeet Singh, general secretary of the Association in a letter to the CS claimed that Floriculture Department has raised illegal concrete structures for cold storage of tulip bulbs in the middle of the prime land of the meadow under the grab of tulip garden.
He said that the construction was halted by the Floriculture Department for some time after the Association raised objection but once again it has been resumed ignoring all norms of National Green Tribunal.
Singh further said that the illegal construction without permission of Patnitop Development Authority shall destroy the tourism of Sanasar on which more than 200 local households are dependent.
“It is therefore requested to your good self to instruct the Floriculture Department Officers to immediately stop this construction so that mindless planning does not destroy the tourism at Sanasar,” the Association wrote in a letter to the Chief Secretary.
