RAJOURI, Nov 3: In a massive anti-encroachment drive, the District Administration Rajouri today dismantled several structures and removed encroachment and dozens of Rehris in front of Govt Medical College, Rajouri today.
The drive was started on the directions of District Magistrate Rajouri, Vikas Kundal. The officials from the Revenue Department, led by Tehsildar Rajouri along with SHO Rajouri Inspector Aejaz Ahmed Wani conducted an anti-encroachment drive to reclaim land in the City. A number of local vendors who had set up their Rehris/Khokhas there were removed from the identified land.
The team used JCBs during the drive. There was little resistance from the vendors and some shopkeepers initially but due to presence of police force, they scattered after brief protest. They were warned not to re-encroach the Government land, otherwise they will face legal action in future.
