MENDHAR, Nov 27: A high voltage drama took place in Mendhar town when a closed liquor bar was found illegally serving drinks to some people, who were caught red handed by locals, here today.
The agitating locals locked the consumers inside bar and held a strong protest demonstration. Even as Police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation, the persons consuming liquor inside the bar managed to escape.
Reports said that the said liquor bar was closed for the last two months following an order in this regard by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch. However, owner of the bar continued to serve liquor there, though secretly, and this was being noticed by locals.
Today, a number of locals raided the bar following which the high voltage drama took place.
Meanwhile, Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant section.
