Illegal occupation of around 2 lakh kanal land to be undone

REASI, Mar 11: The Revenue Department under directions of Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib, has expunged illegal entries of around two lakh kanals over State, Kahacharai, Common and Forest lands, from Register Khasra Girdawari.
The department in its drive has thereby expunged entries over 106885 kanal 17 marla of forest land, 85728 kanal 6 marla State land, 729 kanal 13 marla kahacharai land and 5 kanal 2 marla common land throughout 9 tehsils of the Reasi district from illegal occupation.
With regards to State land, illegal entries over 13162 kanals and 3 marlas in tehsil Mahore, 12544 kanal in Arnas, 8603 kanal and 18 marlas in Pouni, 6018 kanals and 8 marlas in Reasi, 4646 kanals and 17 marlas in tehsil Thakrakote, 1604 kanals and 14 marlas in tehsil Bhomag and 39148 kanals and 6 marlas in tehsil Thuroo have been expunged. Similarly, with respect to Forest land, illegal entries over 51343 kanals and 7 marlas in tehsil Mahore, 4890 kanals in tehsil Reasi, 13188 kanals and 4 marlas in tehsil Thakrakote, 1732 kanals and 14 marlas in tehsil Bhomag and 35731 kanals and 12 marlas in tehsil Thuroo have been struck off.
In tehsil Arnas, entries over 530 kanals of State land have been deleted. Similarly, in tehsil Thakrakote, 117 kanals and 10 marlas and in tehsil Reasi 82 kanals and 3 marlas have been freed from illegal revenue entries. Illegal entries over 3 kanals and 2 marlas over common land in tehsil Reasi and 2 kanals and 6 marlas in tehsil Thakrakote have also been rectified.
Appropriate eviction procedure would soon be initiated against the illegal occupation of the lands. It is pertinent to mention that a vast area of forest as well as State land was occupied in tehsils Mahore and Thuroo.
