JAMMU, June 27: Khour police seized large quantity of illicit liquor pouches, whileas the accused managed to escape.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Khour police station laid a naka and signaled a bike bearing registration number JK02T-4990 to stop.
On seeing police team, the biker escaped from the spot after abandoning the vehicle.
During checking of the bike, police team 40 pouches of illicit liquor pouches, which the accused was carrying from Akhnoor to Khour for sale among the people for illegitimate profits.
The biker, who escaped from the spot, has been identified as Ashok Singh, son of Bishamber Singh of Dehrian, Tehsil Khour.
A case under FIR number 41/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Khour police station and manhunt has been launched to nab the bootlegger.
Police team led by SHO Khour police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta seized the illicit liquor under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
