UDHAMPUR, Aug 22: Police today seized 144 pouches of illicit liquor, which were being carried in a Mahindra vehicle at Domail near Chenani.
According to police, during the surprise checking of vehicles on National Highway near Domail Chenani, SHO Chenani Inspector Kewal Kishore intercepted one Mahindra Vehicle bearing registration number JK17-1803, which was on its way towards Kishtwar from Udhampur. During thorough search, 144 pouches of illicit liquor were recovered from the possession of one Ranjit Kumar of Doel, Kishtwar who was travelling in the said vehicle. Police seized the vehicle and arrested the accused person.
A case under Excise Act has also been registered in this connection at Chenani Police Station.
