REASI, Aug 14: Continuing its drive against the illicit liquor, Reasi Police smashed a still in Ransoo area and seized hooch besides arresting the bootlegger
Acting on a specific information that one Chagger Ram (60), son of Thakur Dass of Kalha Ransoo, Tehsil Pouni , was s indulged in the manufacturing and selling of illicit liquor (hooch) at his village and surrounding areas, a Police Party from P/S Ransoo conducted a raid.
On seeing the Police party, accused Chagger Ram attempted to flee but was overpowered on the spot. Police smashed the still and seized the apparatus as well as one little hooch. Around 10 litres of lahan was destroyed on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No.15/2020 U/S 48 (a), (e), 50 Excise Act has been registered at P/S Ransoo. The operation was conducted by SHO Ransoo Inspector Arun Singh under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs. Reasi, Waseem Hamdani and Addl SP Reasi Surjeet Kumar Bhagat.
