REASI, July 16: Police today smashed an illicit still at village Allya, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ransoo and arrested the accused bootlegger.
The raid was conducted on an information received at Police Station Ransoo from a reliable source that accused Swarn Singh son of Tez Ram of Allya was indulged in the business of manufacturing and selling of illicit liquor (hooch) at village Allya and surrounding areas.
The raiding team arrested the accused on the spot and seized 2 litres of hooch. 20 litres of lahan was also recovered and destroyed on spot while still, apparatus, pipes utensils etc were seized.
The whole operation was conducted by SHO Ransoo, Inspector Arun Singh, under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Reasi Waseem Hamdani and ASP Reasi, Surjeet Kumar Bhagat. In this regard, case FIR number 12 /2020, under Excise Act has been registered in P/S Ransoo.
