DODA, Sept 8: Forest Department here today launched a special drive to save the green gold and has seized illicit timber from Dhossa areas of Forest Dhossa in Forest Division Bhaderwah.
A party of Forest Department led by Forest Range Officer Bhallessa, Suresh Singh Jamwal and BO Gulab Singh and Forest Protection Force sleuths seized the illicit timber along with some tools from the spot which were being used by the timber smugglers for extracting and sawing the wood.
The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of DFO Bhaderwah, Chander Sheikar.
In this connection a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation started.
