SRINAGAR, July 26: Police in Baramulla today seized illicit timber and arrested two accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
A police party led by SHO Police Station Bijhama under the supervision of SDPO Uri Shokat Ali arrested two timber smugglers identified as Gh Hassan Sheikh son of Juma Sheikh and Khursheed Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Ashraf, police said.
As per the police, both are the residents of Mayan Bijhama and illicit forest timber was recovered from their possession in Mayan Forests.
“Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bijhama and further investigation has been initiated,” police said.
