Srinagar, Feb 18: Police today said to have seized illicit timber at Hayanpalpora in Kangan area of Ganderbal.
Acting on specific input about timber smuggling at Hayanpalpora Kangan, a police party of Police Station Kangan under the close supervision of SDPO Kangan Syed Yasir Qadri raided the particular spot and seized illicit timber from one person identified as Abdul Karim Kumar son of Gh Mohd Kumar resident of Hayanpalpora Kangan, police said.
As per police, the accused person involved in the commission of crime managed to escape from the spot and efforts are on to effect his arrest.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 21/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kangan and further investigation set into motion. “Moreover, efforts are on to nab the persons involved in the commission of the crime,” police said.
