Srinagar, Sept 10: The officials of the Forest Department have seized illicit timber along with 2 horses being used for the transportation of the same from Mawer Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Officials said that a Naka was laid by the Forest Department officials at Shanno Tulwari near stone crusher in Mawer Range of Langate Forest Division and in the action, 2 horses carrying illicit timber measuring 10 Cfts were seized while the smuggler fled from the spot.
Forest Conservator in North Kashmir also confirmed the seizure of illicit timber and said the timber was brought from Dudhoul Haril.
