SRINAGAR, Nov 26: Police in Sopore today said to have arrested two timber smugglers and seized illicit timber at Fidarpora Rafiabad.
Acting on specific input about timber smuggling at village Fidarpora Rafiabad, a police party of Police Station Dangiwacha along with officials of Forest Department under the supervision of SDPO Rafiabad raided the particular spot and seized illicit timber from the possession of Abdul Qayoom Mir son of Abdul Razak Mir and Abdul Ahad Hajam son of Muhammad Rajab Hajam, both residents of Fidarpora Rafiabad.
“They have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody,” police said.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 189/2021 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha and further investigation set into motion.
