Imam demands widening of road to Jama Masjid

JAMMU, Dec 5: Mufti Mohammed Anayat Alqasmi, Imam & Khatib Markazi Jama Masjid Talab Khatinka Jammu has urged the authorities to take immediate steps in widening of the road from Rajinder Bazar to Jama Masjid Khatinka Talab here.
Talking to reporters today, the Imam of Jama Masjid said that despite repeated pleas to concerned Minister and Deputy Commissioner Jammu no efforts were made to widen the road.
He said while the people of the area in general were facing lot of difficulty due to narrow and congested road, it has become an impediment in the reconstruction of the Jama Masjid as the material brought for the said purpose in tippers and tractor trolleys do not reach upto the mosque due to the narrow road.
Mufti Mohammed Alqasmi said that in view of the significance of the mosque the authorities should take immediate steps for widening of the road as thousands of people visit the mosque for Friday prayers.
He expressed the hope that the Government will take immediate steps in widening the road and fulfill the long pending demand of the people of the area.
