‘Display Your Talent-2023’ concludes with fanfare at JU

JAMMU, Nov 29: The ‘Display Your Talent-2023’ cultural festival, orchestrated by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, concluded today.
Prof Bechan Lal, Vice-Chancellor of Cluster University of Jammu, graced the event as the Chief Guest, felicitating winners in the presence of distinguished guests, including Prof Anju Bhasin, Prof Rajiv Rattan Sharma, Prof Prakash Antahal, Prof Monika Chadha, Prof Sarika Manhas, Dr Pritam Singh, Dr Garima Gupta, Dr A R Manhas, and members of the campus cultural committee.

In his address, Prof Bechan Lal commended the vibrant mega festival, emphasizing the holistic growth and development of students.
Drawing parallels with ancient Indian learning methodologies, he connected them to the goals of the National Education Policy.
Prof Anju Bhasin applauded the successful execution of ‘Display Your Talent,’ acknowledging the pivotal role such cultural activities play in shaping students’ overall personalities.
Prof Prakash Antahal, Dean Students Welfare, extended a warm welcome and urged winners to prepare for the upcoming North Zone Youth Festival at Punjabi University Patiala.
Prof Monika Chadha presented a comprehensive report on the 27 events, spanning music, dance, theatre, fine arts, and literary activities that unfolded during the festival.
Ensuring fair judgment, the department invited eminent artists and trainers from diverse regions, enriching students’ exposure. The Valedictory Function featured cultural presentations by GCW, Udhampur, and Varsha Jamwal from GCW Parade. The Institute of Music and Fine Arts (IMPA) clinched the Overall Champion Trophy, while GCW Udhampur secured the Overall Runners-Up Trophy.
Awards were distributed for Best Student, Best Theatrical Performance, Best Fine Arts Performance, and Best Music Performance, among others. The Student Cultural Representatives and the organizing team received accolades for their commendable contributions.
