IMPARD organizes workshop on Departmental & Vigilance inquiries

JAMMU, Feb 23: The Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administ-ration and Rural Development (IMPARD) in sponsorship of General Administration Department organized one-day workshop on “Departmental and Vigilance inquiries” at its Regional Center, here today.
The objective of the workshop was to sensitize the Government officers about the latest statuary provisions, rules and circulars for conduct of departmental and vigilance inquiries.
As many as 65 senior officers including HoDs, Special Secretaries, and Additional Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries of civil administration participated in the workshop. The resource persons of the Institute acquainted the officers about the latest trends of departmental vigilance inquiries.
Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Depar-tment, Mohammad Ashraf Bukhari, who is also Director General of IMPARD deliberated on the subject in broad contours of departmental and vigilance inquiries. He said such workshops are not only beneficial to acquaint the officers about latest know how of vigilance inquiries, but also they share their experiences during the conduct of vigilance inquiries which go a long way in updating their skills. He said the IMPARD would organize such workshops twice in the year to sensitize more and more officers about the latest issues and innovations about the administration.
Director Vigilance, Sheikh Owais Ahmad also delivered lecture on the topic and deliberated in detail on the role of Vigilance Organization in vigilance and departmental inquiries. The Additional Secretary GAD, Khalid Majeed spoke on the procedures for conducting departmental inquiries.
Director School Education Jammu, Simrandeep Singh gave presentation on departmental inquiries, article of charges and statement of imputation.
Group discussion and question-answer session on the topic was also held during the workshop and the concerned resource persons replied to the queries of the participants.
Earlier in his welcome address, Joint Director IMPARD, P. S Rathore highlighted the activities and programmes of the Institution. He said imparting different capacity building trainings to the Government functionaries is the regular feature of the Institution.
