On the appeal of the security guards majority of whom hail from R S Pura, Tony met the representative of BD Securities Advocate Gagan and convinced him to give pay to the aforesaid security guards in line with what they were getting by the earlier contractor. He demanded that the Minimum Wages Act be implemented in letter and spirit in the UT of J&K and the security guards of JK Bank should also be covered under this Act meant for providing justice to working class.
After interacting with DDC Member, Gagan assured to give salaries to the aforesaid guards as they are getting from the earlier contractor.
Tony also appealed to the J&K Bank to implement the Minimum Wages Act in letter and spirit especially looking into the status of ex-servicemen who have been forced to work as bank guards due to rising inflation. He said that institutions should not exploit people especially when Government has given clear cut guidelines to deal with the matters regarding pay and perks.
The representative of BD Security also promised to take up the matter with J&K Bank within 30 days.
