JAMMU, Apr 25: Indian Secular Front (ISF) an organization of migrants and non migrants held a meeting at Jagti township today under the leadership of Ashok Kumar Bali.
The members of all communities attended the meeting and discussed the various issues of displaced people from Valley. Bali in his address expressed concern over delay in implementation of PM package and said that out of 6000 posts sanctioned by GoI under PM package in 2008 only 2000 migrant youth were appointed in last nine years which shows the Government is not sincere in the implementation of package.
The meeting demanded enhancement of relief to Rs 20,000 per month as relief holders are facing many hardships due to price hike. It also demanded immediate distribution of ration , posting of staff in Jagti hospital, plugging of leakages in quarters at Jagti and their renovation also.
The chairman of the Committee and senior Congress leader Ghulam Qadir Bhat said that the Government has failed to solve the problems of the displaced people from Valley and no concrete steps were taken for their permanent rehabilitation.
The claims of Government of settling the displaced people in Valley are proving totally hollow as the situation is deteriorating there day by day, he added.
State general secretary of the Forum Er Ramesh Chander Mahajan and Charanjeet Singh also addressed the meeting.
