JAMMU, May 26: All Jammu and Kashmir Electric Department Linemen and Workers Union (EDLWU) has demanded the Government to implement SRO 59 in Jammu province.
The demand was raised by the Union in its meeting, held here, under the chairmanship of its president, Tara Chand. During the meeting speakers were of the view that a great discrimination has been done with the Linemen and Workers’ Union of Jammu province, as SRO 59 of dated February 6, 1990, was fully implemented in Kashmir province while the same was still not implemented in Jammu province.
The speakers regretted that despite approaching the higher ups of the department from time to time for early implementation of SRO 59, no positive step was taken by department in this regard and the SRO is still un-implemented in Jammu province.
The Union also asserted for deducting CP Fund of daily wagers of PDD and providing safety equipments to the linemen and workers of the department besides giving risk allowance to linemen.
