JAMMU, June 6: To acquaint the district level officers with the processes involved in purification of electoral rolls, one-day training programme was organized on National Electoral Roll Purification (NERP) here today at Kalika Bhawan.
The programme was conducted by State Level Master Trainers who informed the DEOs, Deputy DEOs, EROs & AEROs about the techniques to be adopted for improving the enrollment, removing multiple entries, eliminating data errors by effective use of technology and rationalizing the boundaries of polling stations.
The Master Trainers also briefed the participants about the objectives, targets, strategies and the processes involved in the implementation of NERP-2016.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Electoral Officer, J&K Shantmanu informed that the district level officers will now impart training to the block level officers for the proper implementation of NERP in the State. The process of implementation of NERP which was started in March 1, 2016 will culminate by August 31, 2016.
He further said that similar training programmes will be held at Srinagar involving the district level officers of Kashmir division.
District Development Commissioner, Samba Sheetal Nanda, District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar GN Balwan, District Development Commissioner, Poonch M. Harun, District Development Commissioner, Ramban Mohammad Aijaz, District Development Commissioner, Reasi Ravinder Kumar, Deputy Chief Electoral Officers Raman Kesar and Krishan Lal, ADDCs, EROs and AEROs attended the training programme.
