Implementation of projects

Sir,
I want to highlight the commendable efforts of the Government of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir in accelerating the implementation of projects falling under the Prime Minister’s Development Package (PMDP).
In a recent development, all departments responsible for PMDP projects have received directives to promptly submit their Utilization Certificates (UCs) to the respective Ministries within the Government of India. This demonstrates a commitment to transparency and efficient utilization of resources.
Official data reveals that there are 53 PMDP projects underway in the Union Territory, with 13 already completed and nine in advanced stages. Furthermore, steps are being taken to ensure that seven projects are completed during the current fiscal year, with six more expected to be finalized by 2024-25.
The call for all departments to promptly submit Utilization Certificates, expedite reimbursement processes, and utilize allocated funds efficiently is a step in the right direction. Additionally, the allocation of matching shares, such as the release of Rs 100 crore for the Power Development Department, reflects a commitment to ensuring that projects move forward without hindrance.
These measures will not only bolster the Union Territory’s development but also underscore its dedication to responsible governance. We look forward to witnessing the positive impact of these actions on the region’s growth.
