R S PURA, Jan 9: An impressive Nagar Kirtan was taken out in connection with the 356th Parkash Purab of Tenth Guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj at Simbal Camp in RS Pura area of Jammu, under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch.
The Nagar Kirtan commenced at 10.30 am from Ward No, 5, Simbal Camp and culminated at 5pm at Indra Nagar.
During the procession Ragi Jathas of Bhai Daljit Singh, Bhai Gurpreet Singh, Bhai Hasanpreet Singh, Bhai Harbans Singh, Bhai Swaranjit Singh, Bhai Karamjit Singh, Bhai Harnit Singh, Bhai Angrez Singh, Bhai Ranjit Singh recited the Gurbani. The Parcharaks Bhai Narinder Singh and Bhai Sandeep Singh threw light on the life and sacrifices of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj by projecting historical facts.
A large number of people from Sikh community and others participated in Shobha Yatra. It was organized by Sikh Naujwan Sabha Simbal Camp with the cooperation of people of the area. The route of the Nagar Kirtan was Simbal Camp, Tali Morh, Miransahib, Brij Nagar and it finally culminated at Gurdwara Guru Sri Harikrishan Sahib, Indra Nagar.
Many Ragies, preachers, poets recited ‘Shabad Kirtan and Gurbani Path’. The Gatka Parties from Punjab and Jammu displayed their feat on the road durin g Nagar Kirtan. The leaders of various Sikh social and political organizations welcome the Nagar Kirtan.
The prominent among those who participated include Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman Sikh United Front J&K, Mohinder Singh chief organizer Bhai Kanheya Nishkam Sewa Society, Darbinder Singh president Shiromani Alali Dal J&K, Rajinder Singh general secretary Shiromani Alkali Dal J&K, Raja Singh Sarpanch, Ravinder Singh Sarpanch, Kulwant Singh Khajuria Joint Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K, Surjeet Singh Kukoo president Sikh Naujwan Sabha Simbal Camp, Parveen Singh general secretary Sikh Naujwan Sabha and others.
