Impressive procession taken out on eve of Merry Christmas

23JAMMU, Dec 22: To spread the message of peace and brotherhood of Jesus Christ, an impressive procession was taken out here, today on the eve of Merry Christmas.
The procession was organized by all churches of Jammu from St. Paul’s Church Residency Road Jammu. Hundreds of members of Christian community participated in the fellowship rally which was coordinated by Father Kuria Qosa of Gandhi Nagar Church.
Over 30 tableauxs’ depicting different aspects of Jesus Christ’s life formed the part of rally from his birth on Merry Christmas, to crucifixion on Good Friday and return to life on Easter. Jesus Christ an apostle of peace and brotherhood gave world the message of love.
The procession after starting from St Paul’s Church Residency Road passed via Shaheedi Chowk, Raghunath Bazaar, City Chowk, Ustad Mohalla, Panjtirthi, Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, Super Bazar, City Chowk, Kanak Mandi and culminated back at Shahidi Chowk.
Earlier a religious gathering was held at St. Paul’s Church in which the speakers highlighted the significance of Merry Christmas and life of Jesus Christ who gave world the message of peace, brotherhood, unity and who also fought against the social evils prevailing at that time.
They said the message of Jesus Christ is as relevant today when world is confronted with chaos and confusion and terrorism is causing a threat to humanity and world peace as it was over 2000 years before.
The members of Christian community who participated in the procession enroute prayed for peace. They also strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in Army Public School Peshawar in which 132 school children were killed and held a prayer meeting for the peace of their soul.
Addressing the gathering at Shahidi Chowk before the culmination of the programme, Father Kuria Qosa said that terrorism is a big challenge before the mankind today and the message of Jesus Christ was the only alternative to eliminate it from the Globe.
He also complimented the district administration for cooperation in taking out of procession in the city.
