Improvement of sanitation services in GMC stressed

JAMMU,  Nov 14: A meeting of Government Medical College, Jammu, Hospital Development Committee was convened under the chairmanship of MLA Jammu (West), Prof Chaman Lal Gupta.
The Chairman, Hospital Development Fund (HDF) Committee directed Medical Superintendent Medical College Hospital Jammu to take necessary steps for improvement of sanitation services in the hospital for the betterment of the patients.
On the recommendations of the committee, Principal, Government Medical College Jammu, Dr Aniece Chowdhary agreed to nominate one officer exclusively to monitor and supervise the sanitation and security services in Medical College Hospital, who will be assisted by three CMOs to effectively control such services which are vital for the patient care.
For achieving the desired goal, Prof Gupta also accorded permission to engage 60 sanitation workers out of HDF 30 exclusively for casualty and rest 30 for the wards and corridors.
On the occasion, the MLA provided two vehicles on the recommendations of the Principal, GMC Jammu out of his Constituency Development Fund scheme which will be made available to the Medical College Hospital Jammu shortly.
