JAMMU, Apr 12: Political commentator, Pushpinder Kulsherestha today said that nobody can dare to talk against the Sanatan Dharma once society is awakened.
Addressing a seminar here, he said even those holding the top chair in the country cannot go against the opinion held by Sanatanis and talk against your civilization once the society is fully awakened.
Referring to incorporation of word Secularism in Indian Constitution, he said this word has come from Europe where the opinion was held that the King was seeking directives from Church and it was held that to treat all sections of society alike he (King) should be secular and refrain from taking directives form Church. But this word has no utility for India where as per the age old principles of Sanatan Dharma all are treated equally without any difference of religion, region, caste or creed.
He said the word was incorporated by the then Union Government in Indian Constitution in 1976 during midnight despite the fact that in Indian tradition people having faith of worshipping idols, rivers, trees and mountains etc were all called the believers of Sanatan Dharma and were treated alike. So this word has no relevance for India.
Pushpendra Kulsherestha said there are 42,000 Parsis, over one percent Sikhs, one and half percent Bodh and 92 lakh Jains in India and all are treated equally. He said when a law is enacted it should treat all alike and not discriminate among the people on the basis of their faith.
He expressed serious dismay over the Government control on Hindu shrines and temples in the country saying when the religious places of other religions are not being controlled by Government why the money of Hindu shrines is taken by Government.
He said had this money been allowed to be utilised by Sanatan Dharma, it could have been spent on the welfare of Sanatanis and upliftment of poor and downtrodden people having faith in Sanatan Dharma and they would have not been dependent on Government help or mercy. This way there should have not been any poor in the society as the money of temples and shrines would go to a Trust to be utilised for welfare of Sanatanis.
In response to a question that recently an MLA here castigated Sanatan Dharma, Pushpendra Kulsherestha said, he does not want to comment on that and asked why did not the people in the Assembly countered him there and then. Are not they Sanatanis, he questioned?
