NAGPUR, Mar 7: The MD of Patanjali Ayurveda Limited, Acharya Balkrishna has said that they are going to make operational the biggest food processing unit ‘Patanjali Mega Food & Herbal Park’ in MIHAN at Nagpur.
In a press conference here today Balkrishan said that with this the soil of Nagpur will see a revolution in agriculture from Patanjali to improve the economic condition of the farmers of our country.
He also said that the unit will be the biggest plot in Asia for the processing of oranges and it will surely change the poor financial condition of farmers.
“The unit will work on the principle of zero wastage by using the by-products in making certain other things,” MD of Patanjali Ayurveda claimed.
He informed that inauguration of the plot will be done by the Union Minister for Roads and Highways, Nitin Gadkari along with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis on March 9, 2025.
The MD said that this unit will include an ultra-modern processing plant for fruits and vegetables, where products like fruit pulp, pastes and purées will be produced.
A handout stated that the plant will primarily process citrus fruits including oranges, keeping their nutritional value intact. The system-processing plant will have a capacity of processing 800 tonnes of fruit daily.
The plant will also have a by-product processing unit, ensuring no waste is left unused.
Various value-added products like orange peel powder for cosmetics and health products will also be produced at the plant.
