In a statement issued here today, Hakla said this would ensure the development and spread of Gojri language. He further added that the Gojri language is being spoken by a very large number population of Gujjars and Bakerwals of Jammu and Kashmir State the number of which goes over thirty four lakh. So this popular language in no way could be ignored as it is the only mother tongue of these people and one of the ancient languages of India also.
He said keeping in view the demand of such a huge number of population of Gujjar and Bakerwals of the State the inclusion of Gojri language in the 8th Schedule of Constitution of India is most genuine and justified.
