JAMMU, Apr 12: Terming present dispensation as the voice of weaker sections of the society and protector of their cause, Minister for CA&PD Department and Tribal Affairs, Ch Zulfkar Ali today said the PDP-BJP Coalition Government will implement the vision of holistic development.
“Our motive is to ensure inclusive and comprehensive development of weaker sections of the society,” the Minister said while addressing a large gathering of people belonging to weaker sections at a function organized by All India Confederation of ST, SC and OBC in connection with the celebration of birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar here today.
Paying rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar, Zulfkar   threw light on the life and work of Baba Sahib and described him as a luminary leader and protector of the rights of downtrodden sections of the society.
“Dr Ambedkar throughout his life worked for uplift of weaker sections and provide constitutional guarantees for their equitable   growth and development”, Zulfkar maintained.
Pointing out the diversity of culture   in our State where every section will have equal opportunity of growth and where status is determined by the actions of the individuals and not on the consideration of creed, caste, region or religion, Zulfkar emphasized the need for creating a society full of human values where development is based on justice and equality.
The Minister said that unless people belonging to weaker sections receive proper education, the benefits of reservation could not accrue to them holistically.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Transport Abdul Gani Kohli said that Baba Sahib Ambedkar was the architect of Constitution of India and also an eminent jurist and sincere politician. His efforts towards eradicating social evils, caste restrictions were remarkable, he added.
