RAJOURI, Jan 11: An awareness camp-cum-seminar was organized today at Nowshera by Income Tax Office, Rajouri, as per the directions of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu K M Bali and Addl Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-2, Jammu S K Sharma.
The camp was attended by prominent taxpayers including representatives of Chamber of Commerce and other Trade associations. Some of the prominent participants, included Subash Kapok (Chairman of the Beopar Mandal, Nowshera), Chairman of Municipal Council Nowshera and prominent businessmen of Nowshera Dharamvir Gupta and Jagdish Sahni.
The event, presided over by Romesh Sharma- Income Tax Officer, Rajouri, was also attended by Rakesh Gupta from Income Tax Department, Jammu.
The speakers of the seminar updated the knowledge of more than 200 participants with latest provisions of Income Tax and also requested to spread the message with other businessmen for widening of tax base. The speakers also covered the awareness topics of widening of tax base, proper and timely payment of taxes along with other related topics i.e. filing of returns of income and Government initiatives for development in and around Nowshera area.
At the end of the seminar, an interactive session was held and various queries raised by the participants were resolved by Romesh Sharma, Income Tax Officer, Rajouri and other dignitaries to the satisfaction of the participants.
During the seminar, the Department sought cooperation from the taxpayers to realize the dream of a corruption free India and also reminded the participating citizens of their invaluable role in nation building through proper and timely payment of taxes.
