REASI, Nov 18: The Income Tax Department today organized an awareness camp for the general public at DC office complex Reasi under the overall supervision of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, J&K Srinagar, M P Singh and under the guidance of Addl Commissioner of Income Tax Range 1 Jammu, Baljit Kaur.
While speaking on the occasion, the officers enlightened the gathering about the role of the tax payers in the building of the nation and stated that paying taxes honestly is the biggest symbol of patriotism in itself. They requested to promote tax awareness among the non-tax payers considering it as their social responsibility.
The Income Tax Department also sensitized the gathering about the liberal functioning of the Income Tax Department and stated that the declaration made by the tax payers in their Income Tax Returns are accepted without questioning and without demanding any proofs/documents.
During interactive session, officers of the department clarified the doubts of participants. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Parvesh Khajuria, Income Tax Officer Katra; M B Raizada, Income Tax Officer Kathua; Om Parkash, ITI Katra; Aditya Kesar, ITI Katra; Pankaj, Chartered Accountant, Reasi and people from business community.
