Income Tax Deptt organizes Yoga Camp

UDHAMPUR, Apr 29: A Yoga Camp was organized, here today as a part of series of activities being undertaken by the Income Tax Department under the aegis of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotasav”, a flagship programme of Government of India to celebrate and commemorate the 75th Year of Independence.
The programme was organized in collaboration with Yog Sansthan Udhampur at Jagriti Old Age and Orphans Home, Udhampur by Income Tax Office, Udhampur under the guidance of Pr CIT,J&K-Srinagar, Manoj Pal Singh and R K Gubgotra, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-Srinagar.
A large number of people, including 30 orphans participated in the event. Provincial Member Chajju Ram Khajuria of Yog Sansthan, Udhampur alongwith District President S K Gandotra and District Secretary Hans Raj Shastri helped the participants in performing various Yog asanas. Asanas related to cure of various diseases related to stomach, cervical spondylosis, neck pain and shoulder pains were also displayed. The participants were enlightened about the importance of Yoga by Hans Raj Shastri .
Before conclusion of the programme, the gathering was addressed by M L Dogra, ITO- Udhampur, who stressed that every Indian should pay the taxes honestly and added that it can be possible only when every citizen is sound and healthy. He emphasized that the growth of the business is directly linked with the growth of the Indian economy and positive growth will lead to the prosperity of the nation and for developing countries like India, tax is more than just a source of revenue. It not only helps in building up the economy of a country but also makes the Government accountable to its taxpayers, he added.
