Increase monthly cash relief of Kashmiri migrants: JTC

JAMMU, Dec 9: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC), Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K today demanded the UT as well as Central Government to enhance monthly cash relief of Kashmiri migrants.
Addressing a press conference here today, JTC president Shadi Lal Pandita said, “We have been protesting in Jagti township for 69 days but nobody from UT and Central Government came to listen to our issues and grievances”.
He said that the monthly cash Relief of Kashmiri migrant relief holders is very low as one member of migrant relief holder is getting only Rs 3,250, two-member family is getting Rs 6,500, three member-family is getting Rs 9,750 and a four-member family is getting Rs 13,000 only which is very low in this inflation.
Pandita demanded that the monthly cash relief of relief holders be increased from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month. He further demanded that a job be given to those houses/families in which no family member has got a job till date. He said at least 5000 class IV jobs should be given to those Kashmiri migrant families who have not been able to teach their children after matriculation.
“For those Kashmiri Pandit youth who want to go in police force, Government should made arrangement for their on the spot recruitment in Jagti township and other migrant camps and non camps,” he added.
Pandita said till their demands, particularly enhancement of monthly cash relief, are not met till then their protest will continue in Jagti township and also outside the township.
Other members of the organization namely Ravinder Koul, ML Razdan, Vijay Bakshi, Kamal Pandita, Vinod Moza, Rakesh Ambardar, Sager Pandita, Sunil Koul and several others were also present in the press conference.
