Increase old age pension

Sir,
India with the second-largest aged population in the World has been ranked amongst the poorest of nations to grow old in a global survey.By 2050, 1/5th of India’s population will become elderly. Despite efforts to increase public spending, the expenditure has increased only marginally. There is a need to bring in law for universal pension for all be elderly who have no regular means of subsistence from their own or other sources.
Pension given presently under the old age pension scheme is too less ranging between Rs. 200/- and  500/- and is different for different states. Govt.should give atleast Rs 2000/- per month to the elderly under National Social Assistance Programme. Central Govt must contribute 75 percent of this amount and the rest should borne by the State Govt. This genuine demand  of the elderly needs to be considered sympathetically in order to save millions of elderly from sleeping on any empty stomach every night.
Yours etc…
