Increasing terror attacks widely condemned, people demand stringent measures

JAMMU, June 12: There has been widespread condemnation of increasing terrorist attacks in Jammu region with activists of various organizations taking to streets holding strong protests and demanding tightening of security network.

Showing serious concern over surge in terrorist attacks in the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Jammu Mahanagar staged a strong protest at Parade Chowk, here, today. The protest aimed to condemn the escalating violence and the role of Pakistan-funded terrorism in the region. Demonstrators burned an effigy of Pakistan, symbolizing their outrage and demand for stringent action.
In the past 80 hours, Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed three separate terrorist attacks, raising significant concerns about the region’s security, said protestors.
Arman Khajuria, secretary of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, expressed his deep concern over the escalating violence. “The continuous attacks by terrorists are a serious threat to the safety and security of our citizens. It is imperative that we take strong action against those responsible and their supporters. We demand a thorough CBI inquiry into these incidents to ensure justice and accountability.”
Manik Goswami, joint secretary of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, emphasized the need for unity and vigilance while Harish Sharma, another joint secretary of ABVP Jammu Mahanagar, called for a stronger response from the Government.
Congress today strongly condemned the series of terror attacks and questioned the sudden spurt in terror incidents, on the eve of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and Assembly elections which is worrisome.
The party demanded that firm action be taken to check rising militancy, which has been spreading in entire Jammu.
Expressing sympathies with those martyred and injured, JKPCC Working president, Raman Bhalla and senior vice president and media Incharge, Ravinder Sharma said that it is total failure of Centre and UT administration on the security situation and their hollow claims stand exposed at the cost of innocent lives.
Accusing PM, Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah of misleading the entire nation during the entire election campaign about the real security situation, Bhalla said that situation has worsened in the Jammu province for the past two years, especially in Rajouri-Poonch but now it has spread tentacles in other parts engulfing the entire Jammu province in militancy.
Senior BJP leader and former MLA Devender Singh Rana while condemning the terrorist attacks said the terrorist attacks in Reasi, Hiranagar and Doda are a serious threat to national security perpetrated by Pakistan who is unnerved and frustrated by the normalcy returning to J&K and the peaceful overwhelming participation of people of the UT in recently concluded Parliamentary elections .
In a statement issued today he said the security forces are effectively working on the ground and have brought terrorism to its last legs in J&K . The effective leadership in Delhi has proved over last ten years that it has the will and ability to fight the menace of terrorism with its uncompromising zero tolerance policy towards terrorism , terrorists ,their perpetrators, overground workers and their sympathisers which has led to peace on the streets of J&K. “We all in J&K irrespective of religion, region caste or creed want peace and have a high stake in normalcy . Near normalcy in last five years has led to resurgent transformed buoyant J&K. Let us all who belong to J&K unitedly rise to the occasion and together provide all support to the Security Forces and the administration to fight this menace of terrorism unleashed by the enemy Neighbour .
In the wake of a disturbing surge in terror incidents across the Jammu region, Rattan Lal Gupta, provincial president J&K National Conference (NC) Jammu expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation and the administration’s apparent failure to effectively curb terrorism.
Interacting with the functionaries of YNC Jammu at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan Jammu, Rattan Lal Gupta said that three terror attacks within 72 hours time in Jammu region have exposed the negative narrative created by the administration about the end of terrorism in J&K. He said that the spike in terror activities is a matter of grave concern for one and all.
BJP senior leader and former MLA Neelam Langeh has also expressed serious concern over the increasing terrorist attacks.. he however assured the people of Modi Governemnt’s unwavering commitment to eradicate restoring peace in the region. He acknowledged the distress and anxiety faced by the citizens due to recent surge in terrorist activities.
President Sainik Samaj Party JKUT Col (retd ) S S Pathania while expressing his concern over the increasing terrorist attacks said there is dire need to wipe out the growing militancy in Jammu region. He condemned the cowardly, inhuman and dastardly attack by terrorists on innocent pilgrims in Reasi and asked Government to take strong measures in flushing out terrorism and ensure security of the people.
Mission Statehood led by its chief Sunil Dimple held a strong protest demonstration against Pakistan for its involvement in terror attacks in Reasi, Hiranagar and Doda. He said Pakistan has started proxy war and targeted DIG and SSP’s convoy and there is war like situation in Jammu.
Dimple led his party activists in torching flags of Pakistan and effigies of ISI, Hafiz Sayed, Azhar Masood, Lashakar Toiba and other dreaded militant organizations at New Plots here.
Kashmir Pandit Conference president, Kundan Kashmiri while showing his serious concern over increasing terror attacks in Jammu region termed it a part of big conspiracy of Pakistan which wants to create unrest in the UT of J&K. He said in view of coming Amarnath Ji Yatra the Government should take stringent measures to curb terrorism.
All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC) president, Desh Rattan also expressed concern over increasing terror attacks and said that people of J&K are facing this situation for last 34 years now and Government should now go for a full-fledged war with Pakistan to teach it a lesson once for all.
