RAJOURI, Mar 29:  Indefinite bandh in Nowshera continued  on the 42nd consecutive day today while people took out protest march in the towns during the day.
While almost all the Government offices have opened  and started normal functioning in Nowshera town, the banks’ operation was still stalled. The shops and other business established remained closed on the 42nd consecutive day in the town.
The Joint Action Committee led the protest march in the town during the day and later the people sat on day long dharna at Patel Chowk. They raised slogans against Government and also in support of their demand of district status.  The speakers claimed that they were not satisfied with the   post of ADC and had been struggling for district status. The Govt at least should appoint ADDC   here and Nowshera should not be equated with Sunderbani,  Kalakote  and  Kotranka.
In Budhal town also, the people are agitating for the last several days. They are demanding Sub Divisional status for Budhal and posting of SDM and Tehsildar there. They said  Budhal was Tehsil about three decades back  but it was shifted to Kotranka by conspiracy by NC leadership.  Again, it was given tehsil status in 2007 but till today Tehsildar was not posted there. The people have given ultimatum to Government up to Monday, failing which they will start indefinite strike/ agitation.
