Indefinite hunger strike by JU students enters 2nd day

JAMMU, Apr 10 : The indefinite hunger strike by protesting Jammu University students entered into second day while there was no response from the university authorities over their demand of immediate removal of  the incumbent Dean Students Welfare.
A large number of students, including girl students, assembled at the site of hunger strike venue near the Vice-Chancellor’s Secretariat where  Abhinandan Sharma and Dildar Ahmad are observing fast unto death in support of their demands.
The protesting students raised slogans in support of their demands and also against the Jammu University administration as well as the Vice-Chancellor.
A number of girl students volunteered to join the fast unto death but they were suggested to wait till a formal communication in this regard is made to the university authorities and Police.
Meanwhile, the protesting students also launched a signature campaign in support of their demands, which include immediate shifting of Prof Satnam Kour as Dean Students Welfare, WiFi and round the clock canteen facility in the university hostels, installation of CCTV camera for security on the campus etc.
Around three thousand students have so far put their signature in support of the demands endorsing the stand of protesting students.
