Independence Day celebrated with patriotism across Jammu province

JAMMU, Aug 17: 66th Independence Day was celebrated across Jammu province with patriotism.

A patriotic group song festival organized by Viraj Kala Kendra in collaboration with Shanti Gupta Center for Women Studies, MIER marked the independence celebrations at MIER College of Education. On the occasion, Dr Shubra Sharma, CEO Jammu Urban Development Authority, was the chief guest, while Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER Group of Institutions, Raj Bharti, president Viraj Kala Kendra, Dr Reeta Jitendera, Ex President Viraj Kala Kendra, Prof Sarla Kohli, senior vice president, Ritu Sahai, vice president, Sushma Sharma, joint secretary, Raj Sehgal, social worker and Principals of various schools were also present. The patriotic group songs were presented by the teachers of various Government and private schools and also by the associations of housewives.

66th Independence Day was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School, Gharota with patriotic fervour. Principal of the school, Anjli Gupta hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and cultural items.

Government Higher Secondary School, Gurah Slathia, Samba, celebrated Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm. Devinder Singh Manhas, Principal of the school, hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and cultural programme.

Dance, patriotic songs and other socio-economic activities marked the celebration of 66th Independence Day at Modern Academy, Talab Khatikan. Principal of the school, unfurled the National Flag in presence of teaching, non-teaching staff and students.

DBN, Talab Tillo celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Principal unfurled the National Flag, followed by cultural programme by students.

Independence Day was celebrated at Government Middle School, Dhorsi Kalyari. Headmaster of the school, Hari Singh hoisted the National Flag, followed by cultural items.

NHPC Salal also celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at Jyotipuram. Chander Mohan, GM Salal hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and march past.

Satyug Nirman Sanstha celebrated Independence Day. Suman Sharma, secretary general unfurled the National Flag.

International Hindu Personal Law Board, celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Romesh Gupta, State president and Suman Sharma, senior vice president hoisted the National Flag.

Morning Walkers Welfare Association (MWWA) celebrated Independence Day at PHE Reservoir ground, Manda. Retd Colonel VP Bhasin, Chairman of the association hoisted the National Flag.

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam Welfare Society, Rajiv Nagar celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Deputy Commissioner Sanjeev Verma unfurled the National Flag, followed by National Anthem and cultural programme.

Provincial Electrical Employees Union celebrated 66th Independence Day at Power House, Hira Nagar. PC Sharma, provincial president of the union unfurled the National flag in presence of Hardarshan Singh, district sub-unit president Hira Nagar and his team members.

66th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the residential complex of JKSPDC, Chanderkote. Narayan Mengi, Chief Engineer of BHEP, Chanderkote unfurled the National Flag.

All J&K NGO’s Federation celebrated Independence Day at Meer, Pancheri, district Udhampur. The National Flag was unfurled by HC Katoch, president of the federation in presence of VK Katal, chief executive and general secretary, MR Puri, vice president, etc.

Swarankar Sangh Jammu City celebrated Independence Day with patriotic fervour. Krishan Lal Abrol, president, Swarankar Sangh Jammu Province in presence of Janak Raj Gupta, ex MP unfurled the National Flag followed by National Anthem.

Jammu Kashmir Yuva Kalyan Samiti and Panjtirthi Welfare Association celebrated 66th Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm at Radio Station Chowk Panjtirthi. Sanjay Kumar Rakwal, president, hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem.

On the eve of Independence Day, former Minister Choudhary Gharu Ram hoisted the National Flag at Purana Pind, RS Pura in presence of Shobha Singh, block president, Rawail Singh, working president and local populace.

RS Cricket Club celebrated 66th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at Patnitop. Chairman of the club, Raja Ji hoisted the National Flag, in presence of Devinder Sharma, Warden, Youth Hostel Patnitop, Jai Krishan, Team Captain and Sushil Mattoo, Manager.

In Katra, National Flag was hoisted by Dr MK Bhandari, CEO, Shri Mata Vaisho Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB).

In Mahore, district Reasi, SDM Sher Singh unfurled the National Flag while in Pouni, Tehsildar Gopal Singh, hoisted the National Flag, followed by National Anthem.
