RAJOURI, Sept 19: In a major development in the ongoing election of the Rajouri Assembly constituency going to polls on September 25, the contesting independent candidate and former president of Municipal Council Rajouri, Mohd Arif, withdrew from the contest and extended his support BJP candidate, Vibodh Gupta.
While addressing media persons, here, today Arif said that he is withdrawing from the race extending his support to the BJP candidate on the collective call of his workers, supporters, as well as sympathisers. He said “We will not allow the coalition’s agenda to succeed whose agenda is that if they come to power, they will snatch the ST status benefits given to the Pahari ethnic group and other benefits given to the other social groups, stakeholder groups of Jammu and Kashmir, by the Central Government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
