SRINAGAR, May 30: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, Vikar Rasool Wani, today said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lost credibility and that the INDIA bloc will form the next Government at Centre.
Wani made these remarks during a joining program at the party headquarters in Srinagar, where he welcomed many new members into the party. He said that the INDIA bloc would emerge victorious on all the seats of both the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lost his credibility, and the INDIA bloc will form the Government after the results on June 4th. The INDIA bloc will win all six seats in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh,” he stated.

Expressing confidence in the Alliance’s prospects, Wani added: “I am saying this with full confidence, provided they (the BJP) do not engage in any misadventure. The way the security of the Parliament has been altered and the one-year extension given to the military chief suggest a potential misadventure by PM Modi and Amit Shah. However, I believe that if they resort to any such act, the whole country will stand against it, as people want democracy and the constitution given by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to be upheld,” he said.
Criticizing the BJP, Wani said that the BJP is already on the back foot, and they will not even cross 150 seats. “When they raised the slogan of ‘400 plus,’ people knew they were undermining the constitution of the country,” he said.
Wani claimed that with the formation of a new government in New Delhi, set for June 5th, all issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir-including assembly elections and the restoration of statehood-would be addressed.
“The new Government will tackle issues such as electricity, employment, and other local concerns. This Government will have empathy for the people, release innocent individuals, provide employment, and reduce electricity bills. It will alleviate hardships and bring peace, especially after the assembly elections here,” he said.
Wani said that the Congress is fully prepared for the upcoming elections, highlighting that in 2019, the party lagged behind, but this time it is poised to win both seats in Jammu.
When asked about the Center’s recent move to refuse Government jobs to families and relatives of militants, Wani said that the Government should not take steps that result in innocent people suffering. “We are against militancy because we want peace and an end to violence here. If someone is pursuing a PhD, is it his fault if a distant relative is a militant? Punish the guilty, not the innocent. It is wrong to harm those who have nothing to do with militancy,” he said.
