India, Pak hold flag meet on IB in Samba

JAMMU: In the wake of ceasefire violations, India and Pakistan officials today held a flag meet on the international border in Samba district.

“A Commandant level flag meet between BSF and Pak Rangers was held this afternoon at Ballard Post on the international border,” official sources here said. They said the meeting started at 1430 hours and lasted for around one hour.

“The BSF raised the issue of cross border firing with their counterpart besides the cultivation of ‘sarkanda’ (wild bushes) on other side of the fence, which creates problem for the troops to maintain vigil on the border,” sources added.

However, a detailed meeting was held between the officials of both the sides.

Earlier the flag meetings were held on June 5 and 14 in which security related issues, ‘unwanted’ movement along the border and arrangements for annual Chambliyal fair were discussed. (AGENCIES)
