NEW DELHI : The first meeting of the India-Pakistan Joint Business Council will be held in Islamabad on June 29, where both the sides discuss ways to enhance trade and investment.
“The inaugural meeting of the Pak-India Joint Business Council will be held in Islamabad. The meeting will be hosted by Pakistan Business Council,” High Commission of Pakistan said in a statement.
An Indian CEO’s delegation would participate in the meeting.
The statement was issued after the meeting of Pakistan High Commissioner Salman Bashir with members of industry body CII here.
Bashir has extensive and useful exchange of views with the office bearers of CII on prospects of economic and trade corporation between Pakistan and India, the statement said.
The meeting was attended by CII President S Gopalakrishnan, Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, Bharti Enterprise Ltd Vice Chairman & Managing Director Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Sun Group Corporate President Vikramjit Singh Sahney and ONGC Videsh Ltd Sr. Vice President S G K Mohan.
Currently, the bilateral trade between the countries stood at about USD 3 billion. (AGENCIES)
