India to participate in Sultan of Johor Cup

NEW DELHI:  Indian colts will take part in the fifth edition of the Sultan of Johor Cup, being organised by Malaysian Hockey Confederation on October 11-18 at Johor Bahru in Malaysia.
The tournament will witness India, Australia, Great Britain, Argentina, Pakistan and Malaysia and will be played in Round Robin format. While the inaugural match will be played against Argentina and Australia, India will be seen clashing against Pakistan in the next match.
The India Men Junior team is currently under a training session with Coach Harendra Singh.    Speaking on the upcoming tournament, Mushtaque Ahmad, Secretary General, Hockey India said ?It is  very important tournament  for two reasons. First because we are aiming at continuing our winning streak and to defend the title which the team has successfully done for the last two editions. Secondly the win here will help to boost the team for the upcoming 8th Men?s Junior Asia Cup as they are vying for the Asian Champions title.”
