JAMMU, Aug 19: There is lot of difference in medical related facilities in the US as compared to India, resulting in best treatment available, says US-based cardiologist Dr Raj Dave.
While lauding the Jammu Super Speciality Hospital for having A-1 facilities and infrastructure, Dr Dave said, “I was here in town to perform cardio-surgeries and glad to see the kind of facilities and the infrastructure.”
Dr Dave, Chairman, Department of Cardiology, Holy Spirit Institute, Pennsylvania, US, told media here this afternoon that he performed five surgeries during his visit here. He was accompanied by Dr Sushil Sharma, Head of Department of Cardiology
The US-settled doctor for the past 24 years said he had found a lot of difference in medical related facilities available in India as the patients in the US are covered under various health insurance schemes and this is the reason they get A-class treatment.
He further said health institutes in the US are mostly privatized but in countries like India, the Government is raising the infrastructure and providing the facilities, which is good for the common man.
Dr Dave, who belongs to Ahmedabad, said, “We will also be having tie-up with the Department of Cardiology, SSH Jammu and time to time will visit frequently and perform surgeries.”
He further said soon a survey will also be conducted in Jammu on heart patients and a detailed report prepared.
“SSH in Jammu is having world class facilities and infrastructure and also a very good faculty,” Dr Dave said while expressing happiness over his visit.
Dr Sushil Sharma has been organizing the workshops in different aspects of intervention cardiology regularly and has a vision for developing complex coronary and endovascular interventions at GMC Jammu.
