JAMMU, Mar 13: Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today said that India has voted for youth aspirations in the just concluded elections in five States of the country.
Talking to reporters here, today on his way to Kathua to participate in District Development Board meeting , Dr Jitendra Singh said that on the first day of taking oath of office in 2014 Prime Minister, Narendra Modi had said that his Government is dedicated to poor of the poorest and youth which means that it is committed to serve the last man in the last queue.
He said notwithstanding what opposition parties say and the crucial decision of note ban taken by Narendra Modi Government two months before the Assembly elections, the people of the country endorsed the policies and programmes of the Modi Government which has been clearly shown by massive mandate given to BJP by masses.
“Notwithstanding the hardships faced by the people, the Prime Minister merged as a common chord to join together the divergent and heterogenic societies from North to South and East to West in this vast country”, he added.
In response to a question on cease fire violations on border by Pakistan, Dr Jitendra Singh said the people should trust the Narendra Modi Government that it will give a “befitting” response to such acts.
“The concerned agencies will take into cognisance the chain of events that have taken place and you should trust the Modi Government to give a befitting response”,, he added.
“The Government and security agencies are capable of meeting any kind of challenge and you will see the results in days to come”, he said.
Dispelling all doubts that BJP has compromised on its ideologies in J&K, the Union Minister said that there will be no compromise on the basic ideology of the Party. “There are certain constraints in coalition but the priority should be to concentrate on Agenda of Alliance and I hope coalition in the State will concentrate on development”.
In response to a question on the allegations leveled by opposition parties in the State that PDP-BJP coalition has belied the hopes of people and failed to fulfill the promises despite the projects worth thousands of crores were sanctioned for the State, Dr Singh said it is for the State Government to highlight the developmental programmes launched for all the three regions of the State.
Dr Singh, while giving full credit to youth of the country in present victory especially in UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur, said every policy and programme framed by Modi Government is focused on youth, so the youth today added a new chapter in India’s history. “They gave a direction to new India”, he added.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi said yesterday that “we have to dedicate ourselves for welfare of poor, downtrodden irrespective of religion, region, caste, creed and colour to end the disruptive politics”. He said that every community and every class of people supported BJP in these elections. “There was a polarization of people in support of development”, he added.
He said the second thing these elections showed the emergence of grass root level leadership like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah while earlier “we were voting for dynasties and now the compulsions of dynastic succession has come to an end. Now every one is confident that he will get justice under Modi rule”.
Commenting on ‘people’s verdict in Manipur which falls in North East of which Dr Jitendra Singh is also incharge, he said in this backward State where BJP was never counted to be in race for power got highest number of vote percentage. “We will form a Government there too. This has been the outcome of message conveyed by BJP and Narendra Modi’s programme of development”, he added.
He said people of this country trusted Prime Minister, his honesty and courage of conviction so they voted in favour of BJP. He, while making a jibe at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and SP chief Akhlesh Yadav, said they joined hands to keep Narendra Modi away but both the parties despite joining hands have lost miserably.
Dr Singh said while respecting the verdict of people it is the duty of the BJP cadre to work for the development of the nation and welfare of people irrespective of caste, creed and colour.
Earlier, Dr Singh was taken in shape of a procession and given a warm welcome on party’s victory in Assembly elections especially in Manipur by BJM Mandal Gandhi Nagar led by its president Ankush Gupta, other leaders Pappu Chowdhary, Kulbir Charak and National Executive Member BJYM Bharat Sharma.
On reaching Kathua, Dr Singh was also given a rousing reception by BJP district Kathua activists led by its president Prem Nath Dogra and MLA Hiranagar, Kuldeep Raj. He was taken in a procession in the town for his initiative in getting the historical Shapur Kandi agreement signed between Punjab and State Government, which brought cheers on the faces of thousands of farmers in Kathua and Samba districts.
