India warns Pak against ‘self-destructive’ course in Kashmir

NEW DELHI: Minister of External Affairs MJ Akbar today warned Pakistan against its ”self-destructive” path in Kashmir, while asserting that its design against the integrity of  India would never succeed.

”The tricolour that was hoisted in Kashmir in 1947 will always fly high in the valley,” Mr Akbar said, participating in the discussion on Kashmir under Rule 193 in the Lok Sabha here.

Pakistan was in great delusion, if it thought that it could always use terrorism as a tool against India. India can tackle the challenge, but Pakistan will not be able to do that, he said, adding ”You (Pakistan) are committing suicide.”

Some forces were thinking that they could achieve their objectives in Kashmir by misguiding the youth, but they should understand that people of Kashmir were basically with India, notwithstanding the present storm, he said.

Mr Akbar said India was all for maintaining good relations with Pakistan, but it was unfortunate that the neighbour was not ready to mend its ways. (AGENCIES)
