JAMMU, Nov 24: In its continues endeavor to give musical shapes to the poetry of celebrated poets under its galaxy series Indian Cultural Forum immortalized the poetry of an eminent poet Pandit Vidya Rattan Aasi through the magnetizing voices of the reputed singers like Sham Sajan, Suraj Singh and Sargam Pant who were supported by Amarjit Singh on violin, Sanjay Pashi on guitar and Karan Malhotra on tabla.
The programme titled “Aasi Rang’’ mesmerized the audience by the melodic renditions of Pt. Vidya Rattan Aasi’s Urdu poetry. The programme began with the welcome address by Sham Sajan, president of the Indian Cultural Forum.
The programme was presided over by reputed Urdu poet Pritpal Singh Betab while Sohail Qazmi was the chief guest on the occasion. Khalid Basheer was the special guest while Abdul Khalid Hussain and Prof Lalit Mangotra were guests of honour.
In his address Mr Betab highlighted the contribution of Indian Cultural Forum to the field of literature and music while Sohail Kazmi lauded the contribution of Pt. Vidya Rattan Aasi to the Urdu poetry.
A galaxy of the life members of the Indian Cultural Forum was present on the occasion.
The programme was conducted by Raj Kumar Chandan and vote of thanks was presented by Ravinder Koul.
