Indian Cultural Forum organizes ‘Dev Rang’

JAMMU, Apr 19: Indian Cultural Forum (ICF) organized ‘Dev Rang’, a musical-cum-literary evening, based upon the poetry of veteran and prominent poet of the State, Narsingh Dev Jamwal at KL Saigal Hall here today.
Suman Pal in her welcome address highlighted the policies and activities of the Forum. The programme started with a Dogri Ghazal sung by Rahul Kumar in Raag Yaman Kalyan and Gursharan Kour presented a song in Raag Bheem Plasi. Sushmita Banerjee in her melodious voice rendered the poetry of ND Jamwal in Raag Hemant and Shubham Banerjee sang a song in Raag Khamaj.
Sham Manyal in his typical voice displayed versatility in Raag Bhopali. Apoorva Jamwal sang in Raag Pahari. Sham Sajan, the music director of the entire programme himself sang a ghazal in Raag Darbari.
Along with singers, the accompanists like Anil Raina on flute, Karan Malhotra on tabla and Sham Sajan on Harmonium mesmerized the audience with their skill. Ravinder Kaul, a famous broadcaster and cultural critic, anchored the programme.
Aslam Qureshi in his presidential address appreciated the efforts of Indian Cultural Forum and asked them to organise such programmes at village level also. Famous Dogri poet Gyaneshwar Sharma presented vote of thanks.
The presence of Aslam Qureshi, District Development Commissioner (Retd), HC Jhalmeria, Senior Advocate, J&K High Court, Mohan Singh, president, Duggar Manch and Dhian Singh, president, Sanskritik Mandal, Batehra (Akhnoor) enriched the presidium.
A galaxy of poets, artists, media persons, musicians, writers and people from other walks of life were present in the auditorium to witness the programme.
