Indian Cultural forum releases Dogri Music album “Tundey Leyi”

JAMMU, Oct 25: Indian Cultural Forum, in its continuous endeavour to promote music, literature and cultural heritage of J&K State, organized another impressive musical and literary program to release a Dogri Musical Album “Tundey Leyi” at K.L Sehgal Hall. The Album contains 10 Dogri Songs written by prominent Dogri Poetess Usha Kiran ‘Kiran’. The Music Album has been produced by Magotra Nishesh, music arranged by Kuldeep Saproo under the music direction of pioneer Music Director Sham Sajan. Gursharan Kour, Apoorva Jamwal, Rahul Kumar, Sham Manyal, Karan Dev Singh, Rabjot Singh and Sham Sajan have lent their voices to the Album whereas Kuldeep Saproo (Synth) Mayank Raina (Sitar/Flute) Karan Malhotra (Tabla) Sanjay Pashi (Guitar/Mandolin) and Marvin Sotra (Dholak) accompanied on their respective instruments.
The Ragas which are used in the musical compositions are Bhopali, Todi, Pahari, Shudh Kalyan, Bhinnshada, Khammaj, Charukeshi and Shobhawari.
Dr. Lalit Magotra, chief patron of the Forum, in his welcome address, highlighted the activities of the Forum and emphasized that the organization is committed to organize such programmes at least once every month. He asked the people to come forward for the upliftment of music and literature.
Five songs from the Album were presented live in the programme by Gursharan Kour, Apoorva Jamwal, Rahul Kumar and Sham Sajan. A Thumri in Dogri language, which is a part of the Album, was presented by Sham Sajan in the programme.
Usha Kiran ‘Kiran’ shared her experiences with the audience and recited her poetry in programme.
S. Pritpal Singh ‘Betab’, presided over the function and D.C Raina Sr. Advocate J&K High Court was the chief guest. Miss Sureshta Khajuria MD/Principal Shangrilla Public School was the special guest and Joginder Chhatarpal, President, Dogri Sanstha, was Guest of Honour.
D.C Raina, in his address, desired that such programmes should be conducted more frequently. Pritpal Singh Betab congratulated the Indian Cultural Forum for its continuous efforts.
Ravinder Kaul anchored the programme in an admirable manner and Gianeshwar Sharma presented Vote of Thanks.
